Discover the magic of mask making in this immersive workshop with String and Shadow Puppet Theater, led by artist Emily McHugh.

Over the course of two sessions, participants will explore the fundamentals of mask construction. Guided through this collaborative project from design to completion, participants will learn a variety of cardboard sculpting and paper-mache techniques used in giant-puppet construction, and everyone will leave with a finished mask. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and community spirit!

Participants should come to the workshop with an idea of what animal (or creature) they are interested in creating - and a couple of sketches or photographs of their subject.
