331 Things to Do – #45 Waterfall Wowing at Madison Creek Falls

Hike to Madison Creek Falls. And umpteen more waterfalls along the Olympic Peninsula’s waterfall trail.

An easy hike along a paved path ends with a 50-foot tall surprise. Madison Creek Falls is one of those spots where you don’t need to hike hard to see this brimming beauty. Being less than 10 miles from Port Angeles, these falls are fun to visit anytime of the year, even in the middle of winter. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy in the parking lot at the tables. It’s free to park here, leashed dogs are welcome, and it’s an accessible-friendly trail and scenic point. For a longer trek, you can walk along the Elwha River right across the road.

Driving Directions:
Head west on 101 from Port Angeles, turn off at Olympic Hot Springs Rd. at entrance Station to Olympic National Park. Take a left into the parking lot and look for the sign.
